Weekly Athletic Events:

 

Basketball: The Indians and Lady Indians will play in the Division Tournament this week at ICC.  The girls will play Mooreville on Tuesday at 7:00 and the boys will play on Wednesday at 5:30.  Complete Schedule

 

Bowling:  The Indians will bowl in the State Tournament in Jackson on Friday, February 15 at 9:00 a.m.  Complete Schedule

 

Archery:  The Indians and Lady Indians will compete at home against Mantachie and Belmont on Friday.  Complete Schedule

 

Baseball:  The Indians will scrimmage Smithville Saturday.  Complete Schedule

 

Make plans to come out and support the players and coaches.

JUNIORS: ACT for will be Wednesday, February 20. Calculators need to be turned in by Tuesday, February 19, at lunch. Make sure your name is on them. Also, if you want a snack you will need to bring one. You will not be able to go to the store on this day.

IAHS Band - This weekend these students participated in the Northeast MS Band Directors Association clinic held at ICC. After a rigorous audition, Taylor Bishop was placed 1st chair, JT Johnson 4th chair, Nathan Chandler 6th chair, Rustin Reeves 4th chair, Tristen Everhart 10th chair and Harley Taylor 8th chair. Also after a rigorous audition process, Kayce Hunter was chosen for the All-South Honor Band held at USM. Please let these students know how proud we are of them!  Picture  Picture

IAHS Cheerleading - Tryout Clinic will be held February 27th and 28th from 3:00-5:00 in the gym.  Tryouts will be March 1st starting at 3:00.  Sign up sheet is on Mrs. Mandy Lesley's door - room # 18.

Volleyball tryouts will be held March 4-6 from 3:15-5:00.  Anyone interested in trying out should sign up in Mrs. Ellenburg’s room – room #4.  Current paperwork and physical will be required before you can participate in tryouts.  Deadline to sign up is February 22nd.

Prom - Tickets will be on sale every Monday and Friday during lunch. Price is 1 for $25 and 2 for $40.  The prom will be April 19th at Fulton Country Club.  Theme is Black and White Crystal Night.

 

The Mississippi Secretary of State's Office hopes to partner with your school to provide an enhanced opportunity for students to learn about electrions and civic responsibilities.  Our office, through the Promote The Vote program, is hosting an art contest for all students (K-12) and an essay contest for students in grades 6-12.  Every student in your school may participate.  Top winners from each age category will receive formal recognition at the State Capitol in February 2019.  Additionally, the Mock Election will take place in October, allowing students to cast their votes for candidates in two United States Senate races and one race for United States Representative.  Simply click this link to register:  www.sos.ms.gov/PTV .

Mississippi Governor’s School – June 2-15, 2019 at MUW.  Must be a rising high school junior or senior to apply.  Must be in top 10% of class or 25 or above on ACT.  Visit www.muw.edu/govschool for more details and application.

JUNIORS or SENIORS:  MUW Navigating Nursing Days – February 28, 2019.  Must have a minimum ACT of 21 and a minimum GPA of 3.0.  See Mrs. Collier if interested.
