VISION

 

At Itawamba Agricultural High School , we strive to have climate of high expectation and success in an orderly environment where students feel safe and valued. Our top priority is student achievement through curriculums which are empowering, challenging, and quickly adaptable to new technologies in our ever-changing society. We want each student to set goals, to assume personal responsibility for those goals, and to know that he or she has the ability to learn and be successful and will receive every assistance needed in accomplishing his or her goals. We intend to graduate students who are confident, continuously improving, problem-solving, life-long learners who will be responsible, productive, and contributing members of their communities.

   Our vision was developed from a set of eight beliefs shared by all stakeholders.

            1.  Every student has the right to a quality education.

            2.  High expectations and hard work, driven by a positive vision, are necessary

                 in order to achieve desired results.

            3.  The educational experience must support the dignity, self-esteem, growth,

                 and integrity of all stakeholders.

            4.  The process of education is the shared responsibility of the school, student,

                 parents, and community.

            5.  Each person and activity in the school must support the best interest of the

                 students.       

            6.  Shared decision-making, presided over by strong leadership, is essential in

                 keeping all stakeholders committed to a common purpose.

            7.  Willingness to change for the sake of continuous improvement is necessary.

            8.  Education is the most important investment in our future, individually and

                 communally.

                                   

It was this set of beliefs that established our sense of purpose. It is imperative that our philosophical sense of purpose be the foundation for all our decisions. We will continuously work to keep all stakeholders committed to this common purpose.

The mission of IAHS is to involve school, families, and community in enabling students to be responsible and productive citizens of an ever changing world by providing academic and technological programs in a learning environment that is safe, orderly, empowering, and challenging.
