
Biography
Sandy Prestage is a 1986 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School. She pursued a degree in marketing at ICC (IJC) that led to her bachelor’s in marketing education from Mississippi State University in 1990. She continued her educational journey after being in the classroom for a few years, obtaining a master’s in instructional technology and later receiving her National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education. In her 30-year teaching career, she taught at only two schools, Mooreville High School and Itawamba AHS where she taught cooperative education, business and marketing. She also sponsored yearbook, student council, SADD, and her favorite…. DECA, in which she had students succeed on the local, state, and national levels of competition multiple times. She also operated the first school-based enterprise certified by national DECA in Mississippi, The TeePee. After retiring in 2020, she had the best job ever keeping her only granddaughter, Maggie, until she started school. In 2022 Sandy began working for Three Rivers Planning and Development District as a Career Coach at Itawamba Agricultural High School, and feels as though she had been preparing for this job her entire life. She loves being back at her alma mater where she continues to influence the future careers of the students.
Sandy has been married to Marx Prestage for 35 years and has three children, Shelby, Austin, and Hunter.
